Pre-Service Teacher at Oklahoma State University
Layne Storckman grew up in Cleveland, Oklahoma and graduated with a class size of ~120 people. She enjoyed reading, writing, and helping classmates with their essays as a high schooler. Later on, this helped her choose her major as Secondary Education: English at Oklahoma State University (OSU).
As an elective one summer, Layne chose American Sign Language (ASL) 1 at Tulsa Community College (TCC) and fell in love with the language, community, and culture surrounding this class. Despite not being confident in public speaking, this class and many silent events helped her get out of her shell and meet many new people, which helped her grow as an educator.
